The pairing of Andreas Baumecker (nd_baumecker) and Sam Barker (Voltek) seemed almost destined to result in some outstanding music. The fruits of a friendship and production partnership closely founded upon their love for more experimental dance sounds, the ‘Candyflip’ EP introduces the pair’s debut output. Straddling the boundaries between emotional, classically inspired techno and heavy broken beat electronics, ‘Candyflip’ comes across as a wonderfully analogue sounding tribute to well many spent years on the underground. Echoes of the past resound proudly throughout this touching, moody epic while stark, futuristic elements urge it forwards still. Stepping into ‘The Hole’, a darker sound takes precedence, as a deep tripping techno jam unfolds from the pair’s machines. As if recorded within the resonating concrete walls of Berghain itself, the dramatic and richly atmospheric DJ tool is a shining example of contemporary body music. ‘Refugee Hipster’ lets a heavy dub inspired theme blow smoke over the grooves in a gorgeous half-speed celebration of machine funk and absolute love for the genre. Warp’s wonder-kid Jimmy Edgar contributes a stunning keyboard solo, while washes of colourful texture, breathtaking subs and endless subtle details make it a perfect conclusion to Barker & Baumecker’s first release.

It’s finally there, the long awaited debut album from Arcane. The title: 25 years.
It reflects a small life story. The tracklist includes a typical theme to each of the 13 unique tracks. The album contains many melancholic and depressive beats but also melodic parts. Arcane definately brought specific emotions into the album.
Even the first track arouses a firework of feelings. The violines are suggestive of how hard the immigration from Poland to Germany was. At the same time you’ll get an enthusiastic feeling about starting a new and better life to which the parents went for. The ones who know the sense of an emotional exhaustion will find themselves in the track “Burnout”.
Melancholic elements melt together to a terrific techno track. Other tracks like “Travelin´ Man” or “Homeland” tell even more about the life of this artist. The permanent traveling of this DJ and the yearning for his homeland find their place here. From techno to minimal influences and IDM you can find 13 phenomenal tracks in this album.
Also on the album there are 2 skits from DJ Matt K from Atlanta and Novelbeats & Charly Bold. Not baseless Arcane was voted to the best newcomer #3 and best producer #10 by the german magazine “Raveline”. Now it’s time for his album with a new fresh sound.

Even Though You‘re With Another Girl‘ is the amazing single to be taken from Trentemøller‘s stunning new album ‘Into The Great Wide Yonder’. After the huge reaction to the beautiful longplayer, which mixes classic Trentemøller production mastery with more of an analogue, song based, indie-feel, it’s time to carry on with this intriguing set of remixes. Side by side comes a hot record that features remixes by Kollektiv Turmstrasse and Pantha Du Prince. The Kollektive‘ s half of the record slaps a heavy dose of deep, dark funk into the mix, with this ingenious lo-slung version.
