Raphael Dinscoy from Stuttgart did two amazing versions of his track “Doomsday” and it’s a big pleasure for us to publish his debut-releases in our label Fassade Records. Both songs are definitely located in the Dub-Step- and Breaks-Corner and combine modern elements besides old-school sounds of electronic music. The producer projected to work with massive basses, high leveled textures and paired them with funky vocals. In that way the songs are sounding sexy and interesting from the very first second and never become a boring moment! The Rough Version of his track Doomsday is definitely done for the prime-time in the clubs: Big kicks, running hats and a massive bassline are creating an incredible atmosphere will divide every floor and make the crowd move. Besides that result the “Valhalla Version” of his track “Doomsday” operates smooth, deep and always groovy for the easy-listening at home or the later after-hours. The remix of our label-owner Bjoern Scheurmann operating with a wild texture from Trip-Hop to Techno and makes the release finally complete.

Fassade Records is proud to welcome the high-talented artist Gathaspar from Poland. After his debut “Artificial Respiration” on the well-known label Resopal Schallware, he’s going to present with his new release “Beskid Niski” the deepness and intensity of electronic music. In times of boring Loop-House or heartless Techno-Music he decided to produce three outstanding and functional tracks in its own style. Kacper Garbacz aka Gathaspar creates with his sound-concepts like low speed or big scapes a very special moment in his tracks, which will absorb the listeners from the first moment. “Verdantin” is a 13 minute Techno manifest. After the first release from Oliver Deutschmann’s FALKPLATZ label flew off the shelves, we continue with a special vinyl release from Berlin based Ed Davenport, featuring a beautiful vocal performance from Ostgut Ton’s Elif Biçer. ‘Verdantin’ is an epic 13 minutes long burner. Moody synths, haunting vocals, and a sub-sonic kick drive the slowly evolving structure forward. Patience is rewarded by a stripped drum tool gracing the final part of the recording. On the flip the airy ‘Siebzehn’ feat. Elif Biçer soars through dubbed out chord stabs and a jubilant chorus line that swells over 9 minutes. Elif’s vocal shines through with real heart adding a classy edge to this full and honest house track!

Unser Berghain-Resident Marcel Fengler steht nun schon seit einer ganzen Weile ganz vorn, wenn es um rohen, vorwärts drängenden Techno geht. Wie schon auf seinen bisherigen drei Eps für Ostgut Ton erkennbar war, dreht sich Fenglers Arbeit überwiegend um toughe Tools mit Ecken und Kanten. Sein vierte Veröffentlichung knüpft daran nahtlos an und bietet drei energetisch jackende Tracks, mit denen uns Marcel mit auf seine Reise nimmt. „Rapture“ klingt wie ein heißblütiger Live-Jam in einem feuchten Keller in Chicago und beschwört die Kraft von klassischem House herauf. Mit einer temporeichen Sequenz stürzt der Track sich ins Ungewisse. Der rumpelnde Bass und die unverputzte Percussion machen „Rapture“ zu perfektem –Techno-Funk. „RazKaz“ – nervös und intensiv – springt einem dann förmlich entgegen. Eine wobbelnde Synth-Landschaft massiert sich in unser Bewusstsein, während schwere Percussion dieses Gebilde mit einer für das Ohr angenehmen, grobkörnigen Textur untermalt. Dieser Track besetzt diesen speziellen Ort in elektronischer Musik, wo ungewohnte Melodien mit Emotionen spielen, Gedanken sowohl wärmen als auch anregen, ohne den Imperativ zum Tanzen dabei jemals aus den Augen zu verlieren. Auf der B-Seite geht es mit „Enigma“ dann noch tiefer. Hier schwirren melancholische Töne und Drones organisch unter einer mächtigen Anordnung von Drums und Fenglers mittlerweile zum Trademark gewordenen zischenden HiHats. In einem wunderbar flüchtigen Moment ermöglicht diese Aufnahme den Blick nach Innen, während man hingebungsvoll ganz dem Groove gehört.

One cannot appreciate the artistic approach of Onur Özer in its full depth without referring to his cultural origins. After all, Istanbul has been a place to meet and to exchange thoughts, not only regarding the trade between the continents, but especially regarding fine arts. So, it only seems consequent that Özer’s music instruments a location somewhere ‘in-between’. Since 2005, his tracks – and his acclaimed 2007 debut “Kasmir” – are released on the Berlin-based label Vakant and belong to the most exciting music that Techno had to offer over the last few years. No wonder that musicians like 2Raumwohnung and Depeche Mode singer Dave Gahan have been counting on Onur’s remix talents. The brilliant opener of his 12″ debut on Cocoon Recordings, “Clavichord”, takes a Hammond-like organ sound as the starting point for what becomes a hard-to-catch and multi-rhythmic event, where the bass drum emerges not until the track is running already three minutes, forming a sheer vibrating fantasy of almost 12 minutes out of untamed energy that needn’t to be afraid of any comparison with the tracks of Ricardo Villalobos, for instance. The flipside “Oval” is drawing this bow further to an open reverb room that houses permanent layer sounds, choir and signal-horn sounds, as well as LFO impulses, before after five minutes the bass drum finally takes you by the hand. Futurist Techno that needs some time to listen to, but can also surprise you with sound sensations never heard before, even after playing the track a 100 times.

Produced by Florian Schirmacher from Wareika and Helmut Ebritsch.The production team of Florian Schirmacher and Helmut Ebritsch are weathered veterans of the vast electronic field. Florian’s production history covers many bases and collaborations, having started with Guido Schneider under the Glowing Glisses alias for his 2003 debut album, Silver Surfer, on Berlin’s Poker Flat imprint. Since then he has founded Wareika, Federleicht, Here Today and of course Hatikvah working with labels like Cadenza, Vakant, Liebe Detail, Buzzin Fly and Morris Audio to name but a few. Helmut is also one half the acclaimed Klartaum outfit, along with Nadja Lind. His solid contributions to the Klartraum releases have pushed them from strength to strength over the course of their productions. Helmut, also known throughout the electronic world for his skilful mastering technique, balances this duo with complete precision. Soma are very pleased to be releasing the debut album from Hatikvah which will be available on October 11th 2010.
