The amiably deranged Erdbeerschnitzel, alias The Dark Side of the Meat is called Tim Keiling, half of whose life has been spent making music. With his self-distributed album “pathetik party”, dispersed among an inhibited, then startled public in free download grab bags,he demonstrated the lavish, unrestrained use of the musical propeller, drawing on influences from Drum&Bass, Elektro, Breakbeat, Hip Hop, Techno, Deep House & Disco. “To an End” is a glittering soul essence that guarantees for a perspiring spell of hopping and swaying, and “I Wonder” bursts with funk euphoria, screaming for confetti to pelt the dance floor. This release comes with a hypnotic Tuff City Kids – remix. Tuff City Kids are Phillip Lauer of Arto Mwambe (Brontosaurus) fame and Running Back’s Gerd Janson. Everytime they meet at the P&G Music Factory, these kids show a love for cheesy snares and cheeky vocals. Remixing the likes of Boom Clap Bachelors or Azari & III so far, they’ve applied their scientific methods to Erdbeerschnitzel now. And once again it makes use of someone singing about love.
